Glorin is a dwarven clan-state built atop one of the richest gold deposits in the north, hidden inside the Whistle-Stone Mountains between Thespia to the north and Kazül to the south. Its wealth is staggering and its public face deliberately modest—plain buildings, unremarkable streets, and gold exports kept small on purpose so as not to draw attention.

The clan elders coordinate from the surface capital at Gamgara, above the main mine complex. Matabono works its own mine entrances in the east; Zubaydah sits in the west toward the coast and the trade routes to Kazül; and Taufig in the south, near the Kazül border, handles what modest gold leaves the mountains. The Whistle-Stone Mountains that define the clan-state are riddled with natural caverns that sing in the wind—an eerie sound to outsiders, sacred to the Glorindians who call it the voice of the mountains.

The river that rises in Glorin's heights flows south into Kazül, giving life to that desert kingdom's river settlements. Glorin's hoarded gold has not gone wholly unnoticed: Morgnor, the earth-attuned dragon whose domain lies to the northwest, has taken an interest.
