Gyosha is a rocky island in the northern Seacleft Coast, modest in size but well-positioned along the trade lanes connecting Iqes to the smaller island-chains to the southwest. The island's interior is rough terrain—low scrubland over salt-bleached limestone—that offers little in the way of farming. Gyoshans live off the sea.
The island's sole settlement is Mirko, a city-state perched on the island's eastern face above a natural harbor. What Gyosha lacks in land, it makes up for in position: vessels running between the Iqes coast and the Pin Isles pass within a few miles of Mirko's docks, making it a logical reprovisioning stop.
Relations with The Pin Isles to the southwest are mixed—close enough for regular trade, competitive enough for occasional friction over fishing rights in the straits between them.
