A major indentation in the southern coast, roughly forty miles wide at its mouth and extending twenty miles inland. The inlet marks the traditional boundary between the Dygon Beastlands and the approaches to Disaster Passage and Phyr Island.

The name has multiple claimed origins:

  • The Chimean account holds that an early explorer, Captain Ender Valois, charted the inlet before his expedition was destroyed by something in the interior
  • Ix'Meglyakuk tradition calls it Thuk-Mezzal—"where the land stops"—and considers it a boundary marker between their territory and cursed ground
  • Local sailors believe the name is a warning: the end of safe waters, beyond which Disaster Passage begins

The inlet itself is relatively calm, sheltered from ocean swells by a curved peninsula on the eastern side. Several Ix'Meglyakuk tribes use its shores as seasonal fishing grounds, the only time they venture into open water. A few Chimean trading posts have attempted to establish themselves here—the most recent, abandoned fifteen years ago, still stands in overgrown ruin on the western shore.

Inlleyuk: A semi-permanent Ix'Meglyakuk settlement on the inlet's eastern shore, one of the largest concentrations of lizardfolk outside the deep interior. Inlleyuk serves as a trading hub where coastal tribes exchange goods with interior groups, and occasionally with Chimean merchants brave or foolish enough to visit. Perhaps eight hundred Ix'Meglyakuk live here at peak seasons, though the population fluctuates as tribes come and go.
