The Thrygun are blue-skinned, red-haired orcs with prominent tusks who dwell in the White Hills. They represent the most primal and untamed aspects of orcish nature, living in small tribes and following ancient traditions that predate most civilizations.

Their wild nature makes them unpredictable allies and dangerous enemies, as they follow instinct and tribal law above all else.

The making

Every orc came out of the single stroke at Mount Kajiit, where the ending God War spilled more Deoric command than its working could spend, and the overflow remade the survivors hard enough to outlast the Long Winter. Most were caught against something that narrowed the rewrite as it took them: the acid wash at the vent, the floodwater at the mountain's foot. The Thrygun were caught against nothing. They stood on open high ground while the command washed over them, with no second substance to bend it, and took the stroke plain and whole. What it left in them is the orc with nothing added, full winter-hardness and no narrower gift, blue skin where the Deoric burn settled and red hair the cold never bleached out. Every other orcish line is this one with a clause cut into it. The Thrygun are the clause left out, which is why the law they keep is the oldest law any orc keeps, and why the settled peoples who meet them in the White Hills take them for the first orcs still walking.
