King Selron II holds the Tarkhon throne from Tarkhetan, ruling an empire his dynasty inherited three centuries ago through the Severance rather than through conquest or founding right. His authority is absolute in the core territories and increasingly nominal at the edges.
Selron is a pragmatist. He knows the Kingdoms of Fire remember the Neferati founding. He knows Kerwin's king has outlived every emperor before him. He knows Vogenfeld's dwarves are owed a debt nobody in Tarkhetan wants to discuss. He manages these tensions carefully, granting formal respect to each party and never pressing any one of them hard enough to trigger a break.
The Evertorch burns in his cathedral. He treats it as a symbol of imperial continuity—a flame that represents unbroken rule regardless of who holds the throne. That it was lit by Neferati founders who would not recognize his claim is a fact his court does not dwell on.
