Xibrik

Daemon

Domains: reef-craft, coral architecture, tide-as-shelter; current cohort; Xibli goblin patron of the living wall.

Type
Daemon

Domains: Reef-craft, coral architecture, tide-as-shelter.

Era of ascension: Great Expansion (~2,600 BSD). Cohort: current. Xibrik formed as the Xibli of the Melrox archipelago shifted from raid-and-flight to a settled reef culture. Once the coral cities were worth defending, a patron of the building of them was inevitable.

Worshipped by: The Xibli goblins. Their reef-architects make offerings of the first chip from a working spur to him before placing the second; an unblessed spur is presumed to grow crooked. (The worships edge is authored downstream on the worshipper, not here.)

Gavelos rules the surface and Tromaran claims the deep current as battlefield. Xibrik holds the shallows — the eight feet of water that breathes twice a day and feeds a city. His miracles are slow ones. A spur of coral that should have taken sixty years to fuse a junction fuses in forty; a colony bleached white by a hot summer comes back colored. The Xibli do not ask him for safety, which is not in his gift. They ask him to keep the wall alive, which is.
