Velaendor

Daemon

Domains: sea-current, oceanic memory, the depth that remembers; current cohort; pan-kendor patron of what the surface forgot.

Type
Daemon

Domains: Sea-current, oceanic memory, the depth that remembers what the surface forgot.

Era of ascension: Great Expansion (~4,500 BSD). Cohort: current. Velaendor's domain pool drew together from three kendor coastal cultures who had been arguing for centuries about whether the sea was a road, a battlefield, or an archive — and who, by the middle Expansion, had settled the question in favor of the third.

Worshipped by: The Kendrel, Cendoriln, and Pelaendor kendor as their primary patron — the courtly memory tradition the kendor are known for is read as his gift. The Pelarian, of the volcanic vents, share him through a doctrinally inverted reading: that the deep current is transformation under pressure, not continuity. The mainline kendor call this heretical; the Pelarian call it the older reading. (The worships edge is authored downstream on the worshipper, not here.)

Where the triton's Tromaran owns the deep current as battlefield — the trident striking from the dark below — Velaendor owns the same dark as an archive. Kendor genealogies are recited at the tide line because the tide is the daemon's edit of the previous day's records, and what survives the night surf is what was supposed to. The Pelarian put the same scripture under volcanic heat and read out a different message: pressure preserves nothing, it transmutes; the cycle is not memory but combustion. The two readings are not reconciled. Both feed the same pool.
