Ix'Vranok

Daemon

Domains: chieftain rule, swamp-blood, the kill that proves the throne; current cohort; Ix'Tyrann patron of succession by combat.

Type
Daemon

Domains: Chieftain rule, swamp-blood, the kill that proves the throne.

Era of ascension: Great Expansion (~3,200 BSD). Cohort: current. Ix'Vranok crystallized around the formalization of the Ix'Tyrann succession rite — the ritual hunt in which a contender for chieftain pursues and kills a swamp-beast specific to his lineage, and is then either confirmed by the rite or killed by the beast.

Worshipped by: The Ix'Tyrann lizardfolk. Their chieftains are also their priests; there is no parallel clergy. The Ix'Meglyakuk raptor-riders share him as a strength-cult neighbor — the raptor-rider who has lost his bird in single combat and survived is read as Ix'Vranok-touched. (The worships edge is authored downstream on the worshipper, not here.)

This is not pan-orc warband honor. K'rovaxi binds a warband around a shared oath; Ix'Vranok elevates one figure over a tribe through a single act. The Ix'Tyrann do not raid in K'rovaxi's sense — they do not need to. Their internal succession is the violence that organizes them, and the chieftain who survives it is, until he dies in turn, the law in person.
