Rothogomos is a black dragon, and brother of Tepheranos. He came out of the Return of Dragons, the long re-emergence that pushed his kind back into the rebuilt world. Two centuries ago the brothers came together against Argysis, one of the great dwarven kingdoms of the Kharvorn, meaning to break the mountain open and divide its treasury between them. At the moment the last hold fell, Rothogomos turned on Tepheranos and took the whole hoard for himself, driving his brother south to the lesser kingdom of Anarak. The victory soured almost at once. What he holds is gold buried inside a corpse: the dwarves collapsed their own deep roads as they retreated, the forges are cold, and there is no living kingdom left to govern. He keeps the Shyka as his hands and his priesthood, a reptilian people he bred to hate dwarves and to fear him as a devouring god, but a bred servant-race cannot make empty halls into a realm. So he broods in the ruined capital of Othyndria over a treasure he cannot spend and a brother he cannot reach. The feud he started has curdled into the only thing that still occupies him.
