Hykravones is a titan, the only one who did not go mad or die with the rest of his kind. The other titans are remembered for what they built and broke during the Age of Titans. Hykravones is remembered for what he did after he had been gone from the world for millions of years. He is called the Gray Prince.

He left before the end. While his kin still held the world, Hykravones withdrew into the space between dimensions and stayed there. He was already absent when the Ezz flood reached the titans and drove them to madness and death, so he alone came through that age intact. What he was doing out there is not recorded. The fact that matters is that he missed the change, and came back to a world with no place left for him in it.

What he came back to was Gaea's world. Her life, her children, and the order she had laid over everything his kind had once known. The Gray Prince's answer was the Shattering. In a single year he took apart most of the civilization of the Gaeaic Eon and killed nearly every daemon by killing the people who prayed to them. Gaea's three children died fighting him. The course of that war has its own history; what matters here is that nothing stopped him. He stopped himself.

When there was little left worth breaking, the Gray Prince went down into the earth and slept. He was not killed, and he was not driven off. He chose to rest. The histories agree that he is still there, somewhere under Alaria in rock no one has found, and that his sleep was never meant to be the end.

Somewhere under Alaria, in rock that no map shows, the Gray Prince lies asleep. He was not buried there. He lay down. Whatever the histories make of his rage, this is the part the Elves of the Gray Order hold to: he is whole, he is patient, and he is not finished.

The Elves of the Gray Order have built their whole purpose around that last fact. They worship him, they have searched for his resting place across the length of the age since, and they hold that waking him is the correction the world needs. Whether they are close to finding him, no one outside the order can say.
