Dhabisa occupies the southwestern margin of the Dalizi Confederation, bordered by Nikpato to the north, Shunde to the southeast, and Emblydium—a mountain state of the Nydor people—to the south. Its capital, Afgoonod, sits at the junction of the confederation's interior lowlands and the rougher terrain that rises toward the Dragon's Spine foothills.
The dominant geographic feature of the state is Scream Mountain, whose name derives from the piercing winds that funnel through its upper ridges during the dry season. The mountain is a navigation landmark visible across most of Dhabisa's territory, and the towns of Kayorangwe and Mariato have grown along approach routes toward its base. The sound has given the mountain an ill-omened reputation, and caravans avoid camping near it overnight, though Dhabisans themselves treat the phenomenon practically, using the mountain's "voice" as a weather indicator.
Dhabisa's southern border with Emblydium is the most actively managed frontier in the state. The Nydor are not hostile, but their mountain customs are distinct enough from Dalizi norms that cross-border trade requires specialist go-betweens. Afgoonod has built modest prosperity on this intermediary role.
