The Zwaeron are a people of the dwarf, not a separate lineage; their gray-blue coloring is a noted feature without an origin event rather than a biological split. The Zwaeron are tundra dwarves who have abandoned the mines for the open snow. Distinguished by their gray-blue skin and wild frizzy orange hair that stands out against the white landscape, they are true mountain people who scorn the confines of underground life. They have formed a symbiotic bond with dire wolves, riding them into battle and using them to hunt the giant stags that roam the frozen north.

Their range is the Sun-Forsaken North, the permanently cold polar latitudes where no prayer-coalition can hold Bryn's warmth for long. They move through all of it rather than holding any one part. Seasonal migration follows the great herds across the ice shelf, into sheltered valleys when storms close in, and back out again when the light returns. No camp is permanent. No territory is theirs to defend.

They are nomadic, living in temporary camps and moving with the herds. To a Zwaeron, a roof is a coffin; the open sky is home. Their culture values freedom, endurance, and the hunt above all else. They trade furs, ivory, and their expertise as guides to outsiders brave enough to venture into the frozen wastes.
