The Dark Ages span 0–231 SD, the opening chapter of the Seventh Dawn.

The Titansworn were Deoric cultists, believed to be related to the Vyanoweir, who sought to reawaken the titan Hykravones. They formed temples and research studies in the ruins of the titans and were everywhere across Alaria. Their faith rested on one true memory and a wrong conclusion drawn from it. The world had burned once, and the Titansworn took that burning for the hand of an angry titan, or for some older turn of the cosmos bound to come around again. Wake a titan of their own, the reasoning went, and the next burning could be turned aside. They were wrong on every count but the first. The fire had no titan behind it and promised no return, and the titan they meant to wake was Hykravones, the Gray Prince, who in his waking had only ever unmade. They pursued him with fanatical devotion all the same.

The Dark Ages ended with a war against the Titansworn, in which Athatgarun and Raiyurna were involved. Their defeat closed this opening chapter of the Seventh Dawn and allowed the civilizations of Alaria to begin building what would become the modern political world.
