Daemon

Domains: volcanic island, the forge under the sea, the rock that holds beneath the storm; current cohort; Tuktuk patron of the standing place.

Type
Daemon

Domains: Volcanic island, the forge under the sea, the rock that holds beneath the storm.

Era of ascension: Great Expansion (~3,200 BSD). Cohort: current. Tyvarn accreted as the Tuktuk settled the leeward coasts of Tyvern and the island's geothermal practices — vent-forging, hot-spring smelting, the routine of working metal in a place where the ground itself was hot — moved from craft into rite.

Worshipped by: The Tuktuk. The forges of Tyvern are dedicated to him at first heat; a new vent that opens in the island's flank is greeted by the nearest village with offerings and a name, and the name is recorded in his keeping. (The worships edge is authored downstream on the worshipper, not here.)

The Tuktuk reduplicative martial register — the war-shout names, the doubled-syllable cries — belongs to other patrons of theirs, lesser ones associated with raid and warband. Tyvarn is the place patron: the island that holds the warriors, the stone that does not move when the warriors do. Where pan-goblin Shak Shak takes oath as inscribed action and writes it into skin, Tyvarn takes the island itself as the kept oath: the ground stands, year on year, and the people who stand on it are bound by the same standing. He is the only Tuktuk patron whose name is not shouted. He is the one no shout would reach anyway.
