The northern gatehouse of Argysis, Encaspius controlled access from the Celedrim Plains and the frozen north. It was the first hold to fall in the Dragon Betrayal, caught open by an assault no one had expected to come from above. Its quick loss is the reason the rest of the kingdom fought the war it did, holding deep and collapsing the roads behind itself rather than meeting the dragons at the gates again. Encaspius is truly abandoned now. Rothogomos keeps only a small Shyka garrison here to watch the northern approaches.
Of the three ruined cities, Encaspius is the most accessible and the least dangerous. Adventurers sometimes pick through its empty halls after treasures the dragon overlooked.
