The namesake town of the northern Ofrenian kingdom, Tornia sits on the island's northern coast above Gem Crest Bay, where distinctive ridged cliffs trap colored stones worn down from the interior—a feature that gives the bay its name and makes the harbor approach recognizable from a distance. The harbor is the kingdom's primary connection to Clueanda and the northern trade routes.
The royal seat itself lies at nearby Catalina; Tornia remains the older harbour town the kingdom is named for. The town is compact but well-administered: maintained roads, a fortified harbor gate, and enough public order that Tornian families displaced by tension on the southern border have begun returning rather than continuing their flight north.
Shadewood Forest grows inland from the town, a dark-canopied stretch of old growth used for timber and reserved as a royal hunting ground. Blue Lake lies further into the interior, a cold deep-water lake that feeds streams running through the lower farmlands to the south and east.
