The dragon Draphilir has claimed Blyss for over five centuries. Her influence pervades the region.

The Green Rot: Draphilir's breath weapon—a cloud of corrosive, spore-laden vapor—has been deployed enough times over the centuries that its effects linger. Certain areas of Blyss harbor permanent concentrations of the dragon's exhalations. These "rot pockets" accelerate decay dramatically; fresh meat becomes bone in hours, living tissue exposed to the vapors develops necrotic infections. The Ix'Meglyakuk mark rot pockets with specific warning signs and detour around them.

Tribute Zones: Draphilir demands regular tribute from Ix'Meglyakuk tribes whose territories overlap her domain. Every three months, designated offerings—meat, precious stones, interesting artifacts—must be left at specific clearings. The dragon collects these at her leisure. Tribes that fail to provide tribute are hunted. The system has operated for generations; no one living remembers a time before it.

The Lair: Draphilir's primary lair is somewhere in central Blyss, its exact location known only to a few Ix'Meglyakuk elders who maintain necessary contact with the dragon. By all accounts, it occupies a massive sinkhole where an underground river surfaces briefly before diving back beneath the jungle floor. The cavern system is extensive, flooded in places, and filled with centuries of accumulated treasure.
