Hallenfell guards the northwestern shore of Apketrii, its seaward cliffs falling directly into cold water at high tide. The name is old—older than the minotaur presence on the island, possibly a corruption of a Kelemyr term whose meaning has not been recovered. The cliffs are riddled with flooded stone halls: doorframes, carved lintels, and stairwells descending into black water, remnants of the pre-minotaur Kelemyr civilization.
The ruins draw expeditions from the mainland and neighboring islands, and few return from the submerged halls intact. Recovered material includes stonework of unusual precision and carved tablets in an undeciphered script. Keletus officially discourages entry, citing structural collapse; the democracy has also quietly commissioned multiple salvage attempts over the past decade, results undisclosed.
