The mountain range that defines Mkinti's surface geography — a jagged spine of stone riddled with every variety of precious stone, from rubies and sapphires to minerals with no common names. The Ohblex have worked these peaks for generations, not as miners in the conventional sense but as harvesters of sustenance: gem gnomes consume precious stones rather than food, and the Peaks provide in abundance.
The surface is deceptive. Settlements cling to the mountainsides, but most are facades maintained for trade and misdirection. The real Ohblex civilization runs underground, through tunnels carved between gem veins and lit by the stones themselves. Travelers following an Ohblex guide find the Peaks navigable; those who wander without one do not emerge.
