The holy capital rises from the central plains where the original covenant was struck. Seven great temples, one for each patron, ring a central plaza dominated by the Hall of Convergence where the Hierophancy meets. The Temple of Theros faces east, catching the dawn; the Temple of Petranos is half-buried, its lower levels extending deep into the earth; the Temple of Lykanos stands at the crossroads where the major pilgrimage routes meet.

Umlas isn't the largest city on Urok, but it may be the most orderly. Streets follow a geometric pattern radiating from the central plaza. Buildings are constructed to last centuries. The constant sound of bells marks the hours and calls the faithful to prayer. Visitors describe the city as beautiful but unsettling, too quiet, too clean, too watched.

The population hovers around forty thousand, swelling during major festivals when pilgrims arrive from across Xoth. Most residents work in temple administration, craft production, or services for the endless stream of visitors. The truly devout seek positions in Umlas; living in the holy city is itself a form of worship.
