The Hanli flows from Hakö Lake southwest through the Arins Plains before emptying into the Inside Passage near Karamehmetler. It's the main commercial artery of interior Roule—flat-bottomed barges carry grain, honey, and goods between the lake towns and the coast.
The river is slow, wide, and reliable. Floods are rare. Halfling engineers have straightened its course in several places, and locks allow navigation around the few elevation changes. Towns along the Hanli are prosperous and dull, the kind of places where nothing interesting ever happens and the residents prefer it that way.
