Two low islands rising from open water south of Kitengol Island, close enough to see each other's shores on clear days but different enough in character that sailors rarely mistake one for the other. The larger western island is rocky and windswept, its shoreline too rough for reliable landing; the eastern island is flatter, its interior sheltered by a dense stand of coastal scrub that breaks the prevailing wind and makes it the more hospitable of the two.
Neither island has permanent settlements. Fishermen from the surrounding sea lanes use the eastern island seasonally, sheltering behind its treeline during storms and maintaining dry-stone caches by the informal custom of those who pass through. The western island collects driftwood in quantities worth a visit but not a stay.
The two islands take their collective name from their appearance on the southern horizon — equal-seeming silhouettes that sailors have used as a paired bearing mark for the sea lanes running north toward Kitengol.
