Shir is a hill-spined island set in open water midway between the northern mainland and the Sunshine Coast. The Scream Strait runs along its northern shore and the Lightning Passage along its south, the two channels leaving it without a land border to any neighbor. Its broken, ridged interior and surrounding shoals keep it apart from the larger landmasses on every side.
