The Devil Peaks form the southern edge of Emblydium's territory, a jagged cluster of spires that jut from the Dragon's Spine at irregular angles. The peaks are volcanic in origin; two emit persistent fume plumes, and the ground between them is warm enough in places to melt boot leather if a traveler lingers. The Nydor do not settle here.
Emblydium's control over the Devil Peaks is notional. The state claims the range as its southern boundary and routes secondary traffic through the passes when the main roads are contested, but no garrison holds the interior. The heat and uncertain footing see to that.
