The Bleeding Mountains form the northern wall of Emblydium, their slopes stained deep ochre and rust by iron-rich mineral seeps that tint every runoff stream a dull red. The Nydor call them Kyrrath-Denn—the Weeping Stone—and harvest oxidized ore from exposed veins where the rock bleeds most freely. The color deepens after heavy rain, when whole hillsides appear to flush with something older than rust.
The range's lower passes mark Emblydium's northern approach and are routinely contested. Any force pushing south from the Haunted Hills must thread the mountain walls here, and the Nydor have built their border defenses accordingly: choke-point watchtowers wedged into natural notches, and paths that appear passable but empty onto blind scree drops.
