Danak is the highland interior of the Frostmarch Peninsula—rolling hills, sparse conifers, and wind-scoured ridgelines reaching west from the border with Chinayqax Munaga. Its people are the Danaki, minotaurs who have built a dispersed network of settlements across this rough terrain: Anno, Enosshi, Iidatto, Qrokabo, Rikki, Vinesso, Yesizhi, and Zerqollo. No single settlement holds precedence; authority flows through clan councils that convene at need.
The most distinctive feature of Danak is the Valley of Thagrund, a broad lowland sheltered between ridges that collects what little warmth the peninsula's climate allows. The Valley serves as the region's agricultural center and a traditional ground for inter-clan gatherings, the one place where the otherwise independent Danaki clans meet on neutral terms.
Danak's southeastern flank is defined by its long dispute with the Enti orc confederation of Atyeska. Raids run both directions across the highland edge, and the Danaki reckon time by these cycles of conflict as much as by season.
