The making that produced every orc happened at Mount Kajiit in a single morning: the God War's final eruption loosed more Deoric command than its working could spend, and the overflow rewrote the survivors hard enough to outlast the Long Winter. The Hedroscobbi are the orcs who were standing closest to the vent. Where the rest of the survivors caught that overflow as raw resilience, the bodies down in the corrosive wash at the mountain's foot, ankle-deep in the acids the eruption brought up out of the ground, caught a narrower cut of the same stroke: skin the acid could not eat. It set that morning, and it has run true down every Hedroscobbi clan line since.
Everything outsiders know them for is built on that one trait. The Hedroscobbi are the only orcs who can wear algae-iron, the brutally heavy alloy they smith from river-iron and the corrosive swamp algae that would flay any other smith raw, so they alone make it, and the armor it produces shrugs off conventional weapons. They hold the contested marsh of Yugurbas Dyos, the ground the eruption made, against the Glivornaxi and against each other. Living on the site of their own making is not lost on them.
