Velyv accreted as the Gyv shifted from open service in the courts of their neighbors to the indirect work they are now known for — the carefully placed favor, the unsigned arrangement, the third party whose first party is never identified.
Worshipped by: The Gyv. There are no temples — a temple would be a marker, and a marker is the failure his worship is designed to avoid. Offerings are made privately, often in the form of a kindness done without the giver naming themselves. (The worships edge is authored downstream on the worshipper, not here.)
He is not a daemon of secrecy in the dramatic sense. Secrecy with menace belongs to other patrons. Velyv's gift is the unobtrusive — the influence that, after it has worked, leaves the influenced party convinced they made the decision themselves. The Gyv say the highest worship is the favor the recipient does not realize is a favor; the second-highest is the favor that is forgotten within a year. A Gyv who is thanked has, in the strictest reading, been clumsy.
