Era of ascension: Great Expansion (~2,400 BSD). Cohort: current. Tytheraxi crystallized late in the Expansion, after the Tytheri retreat to the Agony Stones — a tribe that had been driven out of arable country and chose to make a virtue of the rock they were forced to live on.
Worshipped by: The Tytheri orcs. Their elders bear the longest pain-scars in the orc world: lattice patterns of slow burns and re-opened cuts that take years to mature, each one understood as a debt the world owed the bearer and which the bearer has personally collected. Sainu eats pain inflicted. Tytheraxi receives pain accepted. The Tytheri do not cruel their neighbors — the violence is turned inward and ritualized, and a warrior who strikes outside the rite is shunned. They say the world made a mistake when it ran them off their old country, and that the mistake is being slowly cleaned, in their own skin, one season at a time. When the last scar is added, an elder walks into the Agony Stones and does not come back. What returns is not the body. That is what Tytheraxi keeps.
