Harath

Daemon

Domain: healing, herbs, recovery; dead cohort (Craggus era); healing deity of the post-Long-Winter world.

Type
Daemon

Domains: Healing, medicinal herbs, physical recovery.

Era of ascension: Age of Craggus (~42,000 years ago). Cohort: dead. Died: Lost Ages (~30,000 years ago), when the Laughing Plague killed faster than healers could respond and her followers concluded she was either powerless or absent.

Worshipped by: The healers, herbalists, and midwives of Craggus-era civilization — those who rebuilt the practical medicine that had been lost in the Long Winter. No living culture maintains her worship. (The worships edge is authored downstream on the worshipper, not here.)

Harath filled a gap that Craggus himself, as a god of mankind-in-aggregate, could not fill: the specificity of individual bodies healing. Her practitioners were among the most technically skilled of the Craggus era, because her worship demanded results — a healer who prayed to Harath and failed too often lost congregants. The Laughing Plague was a theological crisis she could not survive: it progressed too fast, killed too uniformly, and left no room for the careful herbal intervention her worship demanded.
