Aedorath

Daemon

Domain: harvest, abundance, fertility; dead cohort (Golden Age); goddess of the cultivated earth.

Type
Daemon

Domains: Harvest, abundance, fertility.

Era of ascension: Golden Age of Man (~180,000 years ago). Cohort: dead. Died: God War & Long Winter (~75,000 years ago), when the perpetual cold froze every harvest and her following starved within a generation.

Worshipped by: Agricultural communities across the Golden Age civilizations — farmers, grain merchants, those who read the seasons for a living. No living culture maintains her worship. (The worships edge is authored downstream on the worshipper, not here.)

Aedorath was one of the great constants of the Golden Age pantheon, the one every farmer prayed to before planting and after harvest. Her cult was the most widely distributed of any Golden Age goddess precisely because it required no specialized theology, just gratitude for food. The Long Winter destroyed that relationship entirely.

The cold is only half of why she went. The anchor-vessel rite that kept Aedorath present among her farmers depended on Krathokh's priesthood, and when the God War shattered those orders the binding that seated her attenuated even as the fields began to freeze.
