A region of highland lakes and pools in northeastern Mueras, fed by rainfall from the Mueras Highlands and streams descending from the Dustwind Plateau. The tarns provide the primary freshwater source for the northern settlements—a fact that has made them contested territory throughout Mueran history.
Currently, the tarns fall under the loose protection of House Hammren, though several smaller merchant families maintain estates here. The freshwater fisheries and the waterfowl hunting draw wealthy Muerans seeking respite from the salt air and political intrigue of the coast.
