The Amverela tolerate this because trade is useful and because concentrating foreign activity in Mataojo keeps it away from the rest of the state. The city's architecture is mixed: elven foundations supporting human additions, elegant stonework adjacent to practical wooden warehouses. The combination works better than it should.
